Jack Kornfield · Rameshwar Das · Mirabai Bush · Dale Borglum

Ram DassRam Dass, one of America's most beloved spiritual figures, has made his mark on the world by teaching the path of the heart and promoting service in the areas of socially-conscious business practices and care for the dying. Ram Dass first went to India in 1967.

He was still Dr. Richard Alpert, an eminent Harvard psychologist and psychedelic pioneer with Dr.Timothy Leary. In India, he met his guru, Neem Karoli Baba, affectionately known as Maharajji, who gave Ram Dass his name, which means 'servant of God'.

On his return from India, Ram Dass became a pivotal influence on a culture that has reverberated with the words "Be Here Now" ever since. With Be Love Now (Harper One) Ram Dass completes his trilogy that began with Be Here Now in 1970 and continued with Still Here in 2004. Ram Dass has been a beacon for spiritual seekers worldwide, challenging us to find new sources of meaning and purpose in our lives.

Being Here Now with Ram Dass and his guests is a soulful exploration of mindfulness, love, service, and living and dying. Ram Dass explores the topics: Wise Heart, Polishing the Mirror of the Mind, Compassion in Action, and Love and Death. This wisdom has been cultivated from over 45 years of Ram Dass’ teachings.

RAMESHWAR DAS ・ Polishing the Mirror of the Mind

Ram DassRameshwar Das, Ram Dass’ co-author of BE LOVE NOW, first met Ram Dass while a college student in 1967, studied yoga and meditation with him, and in 1970 traveled to India to see Neem Karoli Baba.

He lived there for a year and a half, receiving the name Rameshwar Das. He has returned to India every few years over the interval and has collaborated with Ram Dass on a number of projects prior to BE LOVE NOW.

Polishing The Mirror of the Mind is a discussion about shedding the layers of the mind, like layers of an onion, to come to the essence of yourself. True yoga is going beyond thought, to a place where thought stops. By just being here now you begin to live in the eternal present. Become a witness to your own thought parade, just being with what is, without judgment. That presence of mind, that awareness, which the Buddhists describe as emptiness, is also full of love. It’s the greatest gift you can give, to yourself or another human being.

Love and Death. Our bodies and our minds die. In our heart lives the deathless. Can our devotion prepare us for death and can our the certainty of our death inspire us to open our hearts? Surrender to the depths of the heart. Connect to that within each of us which does not die, to that which we all share.
