Introducing the Conference Faculty and their philosophy

“Although time (and not too much of it) will tell, I suspect that José will be honored as one of the most important thinkers in human history.”
—Daniel Pinchbeck

José Argüelles is the man who first introduced the date December 21, 2012 into mass consciousness with The Mayan Factor. The initiator of the Harmonic Convergence global peace meditation of 1987, Argüelles is also the founder of the annual Whole Earth Festival (1970) in California, and one of the originators of the Earth Day concept.
Following a life-changing vision at age 14, atop the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan, Mexico, Arguelles began a lifelong journey to discover the underlying mathematics and prophecies associated with the Mayan calendar. By uncovering the Mayan codes, Arguelles discovered the telepathic nature of time. He also realized that the human species is living in artificial time, which is disrupting its planetary environment and destroying its civilization.

To expand his vision of world peace, Arguelles co-founded of the Planet Art Network (PAN) and the World Thirteen Moon Calendar Change Peace Movement. He is presently Director of the Galactic Research Institute of the Foundation for the Law of Time, and most recently convened the First Bioregional Noosphere Congresses held at numerous sites world-wide. Through the Noosphere II research project he is exploring synchronic time and states of consciousness, co-producing the seven voume series, Cosmic History Chronicles, and promoting the vision of Earth as a work of art.

The purpose of the Maya coming to this planet was very specific: to leave behind a definite set of clues and information about the nature and purpose of our planet at this particular time in the solar system and in the galactic field. The Maya came here at a very specific time and made their observations. They left behind observations about the relationship of our planet to at least seven inner planets and information about the nature of the galactic beam our planet is now passing through, and which it has been passing through since 3113 BC. Once they made calibrations about the relationship of our planet to this galactic beam and to the other planets and to the sun, their job was done.

One of the mysteries of the Maya has to do with their calendar, or what has been interpreted as their calendar. If the classic Maya didn’t begin building their temples and cities until AD 100-300, why were they using a precise calendar with an initiation point equivalent to August 13, 3113 BC? This calendar is usually referred to as the “Great Cycle,” and runs from 3113 BC to AD 2012. The question is, Why did they have a calendar that begins in 3113 BC, when they do not seem to have really begun to flourish as a civilization until the early centuries of the present (last) millennium?

When I assumed perhaps the Maya were originally from outside of the solar system and from another portion of the galaxy, I also looked at the actual mathematical system that was being used to define their calendar. It was often assumed that the Maya invented the calendar to keep track of agriculture and planting seasons. I went back and assumed that the mathematical system existed first, and was then adapted to a terrestrial calendar. As I looked at the mathematics, I was struck by the amazing quality of harmonic numbers in the calendar. The calendar was actually measuring some type of harmonic wave, some type of large wave or beam that had particular cycles of fluctuation and amazing harmonic properties. It quickly struck me that the Great Cycle isn’t so much a measurement of time as it is the measurement of this planet’s passage through a beam that is 5,125 years wide, or 5,125 years in diameter. Naturally, it’s difficult to be aware that we are passing through a beam that is being generated from the galactic core and mediated through the sun, the local star. The Earth is passing through it, as are all the other planets, but it seems to have particular meaning for the Earth.

Astrophysicists, however know of such beams, calling them density waves. These waves sweep through the galaxy influencing major stages of galactic evolution such as the birth of stars. With this in mind, I further understood that this beam - wave harmonic of history - was a type of synchronization beam whose purpose was to accelerate and synchronize the planetary DNA such, that by the end of the cycle, humanity would realize it was a unified planetary organism.

In 2012, we will be at a place on the galactic spiral, where only maybe one turn up on this particular beam, where we were in 3113 BC, and what that means is that there’s an evolutionary jump. The cycle that I’ve been talking about, the Great Cycle, is only a subfactor of another larger cycle and all cycles—they go up (macro), and they go down (micro). The larger cycle that we’re dealing with is an approximately 26,000-year cycle that also ends in 2012. If you go back 26,000 years, this cycle roughly encompasses the evolutionary stage Homo sapiens. The peak of the last Ice Age was in 24,000 BC. This is when what we call “modern humanity” emerged. So, this 26,000-year cycle actually encompasses five Great Cycles. We’re in the fifth and last of a set of Great Cycles that began in 24,000 BC. It’s on this basis that we’re looking at 2012 as being a very, very critical juncture. It’s what I refer to as “galactic synchronization,” and it also is a major evolutionary shift. The next evolutionary shift will occur in 2012 - and that shift, a change in frequency, will take us directly into the noosphere.

There are other dimensions of reality, and there are more evolved stages of being and intelligence than ours. The universe is benign and compassionate. No one’s out to destroy us. UFO activity has increased since we entered a critical pollution stage, which followed the introduction of radioactive waste into the environment in 1945. It’s been since that point that the modern phenomenon of UFOs has been with us. There is definitely a relationship between the Mayan factor and the UFO phenomenon, and I think that we can anticipate that the UFO activity will intensify. We must understand and realize that we are dealing with galactic civilization. That realization will facilitate a return to our highest being, to our own receivers opening up, and the information of the Mayan factor, will be information easily accessible to everybody.

In today's culture of profit, we do not produce goods based on human need. We do not build houses based on population needs. We do not grow food to feed people. Industry's major motivation is profit.

A resource-based economy by definition includes the participation of all people in its benefits. In a monetary system there is an inherent reason for corruption and that is to gain a competitive advantage over someone else. Without vested interests or the use of money, there is no benefit to squelching one’s opinion or falsifying information or taking advantage of anyone. There would be no need for any underlying rigid social barriers that would limit the participation of anyone or restrain the introduction of new ideas. The main objective is the access of information and the availability of goods and services to all people. This would enable people to be prepared to participate in the exciting challenges of this new society. A resource-based economy could create an environment that would encourage the widest range of individuality, creativity, constructive endeavor, and cooperation without any kind of elitism, technical or otherwise. Most significantly, a resource-based economy would generate a far different incentive system, one based on human and environmental concern. This would not be a uniform culture but one that is designed to be in a constant process of growth and improvement.

As we enhance the lives of others, protect our environment, and work toward abundance, all our lives can become richer and more secure. If these values were put into practice it would enable all of us to achieve a much higher standard of living within a relatively short period of time--one that would be continuously improved. At a time when commercial institutions no longer exist, the necessity for prisons, lawyers, advertisements, banks and the stock exchange will serve no useful purpose. In the society of the future, in which the monetary system of scarcity has been surpassed by a resource based economy and most physical and creative needs are met, private ownership as we know it would cease to be a necessity to protect one’s access to goods and services. The concept of ownership would be of no advantage whatsoever in a society of abundance. Although this is difficult for many to imagine, even the wealthiest person today would be immensely better off in the highly productive resource-based society. Today in developed countries the middle class live far better than kings and the wealthy of times past. In a resource based economy everyone would live richer lives than the powerful and wealthy of today, not only materially but spiritually as well.

People would be free to pursue whatever constructive field of endeavor they choose without any of the economic pressures, restraints, debts and taxation that are inherent in the monetary system of today. By constructive endeavor, we mean anything that enhances the lives of the individual and others while protecting the global environment. When education and resources are available to all without a price tag, there would be no limit to the human potential. With these major alterations people would be able to eventually live longer, more meaningful, healthier and productive lives. In such a society, the measure of success would be based on the fulfillment of one's individual pursuits rather than the acquisition of wealth, property, and power.

Due to health issues stan grof will not be able to join the conference.

Stan Grof, M.D., is a psychiatrist with more than fifty years experience researching the healing and transformative potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness. He is one of the founders and chief theoreticians of transpersonal psychology and founding president of the International Transpersonal Association (ITA). On October 5, 2007, he was granted the prestigious Award >Vision 97< from the Czech ex-President Václav Havel and his wife Dagmar. His groundbreaking theories influenced the integration of Western science with his brilliant mapping of the transpersonal dimension. Among his many books are Psychology of the Future, The Cosmic Game, When the Impossible Happens, and The Ultimate Journey.

Since the publication of Jose Arguelles’ book The Mayan Factor: Path Beyond Technology (Arguelles 1987) brought to the attention of lay audiences the ancient prophecy concerning the end of the Maya Long Count calendar, which started on August 11, 3114 BC, and will end on December 21, 2012 AD, this date has become the focus of many articles, books, and conferences and of a forthcoming movie entitled 2012. Similar prophecies about the end of the Great Cycle can be found in many other cultural and religious groups – the Hopi, Navajo, Cherokee, Apache, Iroquois confederacy, ancient Egyptians, the Kabbalists, Essenes, Qero elders of Peru, the Subsaharan Dogon tribe, and the Australian Aborigines.

With a few exceptions, the Mayan prophecy about the end of the cosmic cycle, the Fifth World, has been interpreted in terms of actual physical destruction of humanity and of the material world, in a way similar to the interpretation (or better misinterpretation) of the term apocalypse by Christian fundamentalists, particularly the millions of American Christians who believe that at the time of this global destruction they will experience “rapture” and be united with Jesus.

People who see it this way are not aware of the fact that the original and literal meaning of the term apocalypse (Greek) is not destruction but "lifting of the veil" or "revelation.” It referred to the disclosure of some secrets hidden from the majority of humanity to certain privileged persons. The source of the misinterpretation of this word is probably the phrase “apokálypsis eschaton” which literally means "revelation at the end of the æon, or age."

The purpose of this conference is to explore a radically different, more optimistic interpretation of the Mayan prophecy – as referring to the end of the world as we have known it: a world dominated by unbridled violence and insatiable greed, egotistic hierarchy of values, corrupted institutions and corporations, and irreconcilable conflicts between organized religions. Instead of predicting a physical destruction of the material world, the Mayan prophecy might refer to death and rebirth and a mass inner transformation of humanity. In order to explore this idea, we have to answer two important questions, First, how could ancient Mayans two thousand years ago predict what situation humanity would be facing in the twenty-first century? And second, are there any indications that modern society, more specifically the industrial civilization, is currently on the verge of a major psychospiritual transformation? I will try to address these questions in the course of my presentation.

Graham Hancock's chief areas of interest are ancient mysteries, stone monuments or megaliths, ancient myths and astronomical/astrological data from the past. One of the main themes running through many of his books is the possible global connection with a 'mother culture' from which he believes all ancient historical civilizations sprang.

There are texts and traditions coming down to us from the Maya that suggest that this is not just the end of an epoch, but the end of an entire age of the Earth and of everything that has been built and accumulated in the last 5000 years – that this too will come to an end.
It's often been said that those who forget the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat them. But what if we have forgotten an entire, hugely important episode in human history? Myths and legends from all over the world insist that a great civilization that was technologically advanced, powerful and wise existed in deep antiquity but was wiped from the face of the earth when it "angered the gods". In this lecture, Graham Hancock makes the case for a lost civilization destroyed in a global cataclysm at the end of the last Ice Age around 12,500 years ago. As we approach the fated year 2012 he argues that our civilization, too, despite its technological prowess, might be poised on the brink of becoming the next Atlantis.

"I think we have gone through and are going through the final stages of a very dark age, but I also see glimmers of hope everywhere I look. I see people who are no longer willing to have their thoughts and their consciousness controlled by others, people who seek direct spiritual contact, who recognize that the established monotheistic religions, whether Judaism, Christianity and Islam, while they might have been instruments of liberation sometime in the past are now primarily instruments of oppression, and hold down and repress the human spirit. And I see everywhere around me people reaching out to by-pass that monolithic block of established religion and make their own contacts and own connections with the spirit realm. I do see a new birth of human consciousness underway. And when these things happen they can sometimes happen very fast. So I cannot rule out at all the possibility that all of us are going to be looking at the mystery and meaning of life in a very different way very soon and that date 21st. of December 2012 sticks in my mind as one that is really worth consideration."
Graham Hancock

Hancock is the author of the major international bestsellers The Sign and the Seal, Fingerprints of the Gods, Keeper of Genesis, The Mars Mystery, Heaven's Mirror and Underworld. His books have sold more than five million copies worldwide, have been translated into 27 languages, and include five No. 1 bestsellers in the UK. His public lectures and TV appearances, including the three-hour Learning Channel series Quest For The Lost Civilisation (1998), and Flooded Kingdoms of the Ice Age (2002), have put his ideas before audiences of tens of millions. Graham Hancock's newest book is Supernatural: Meetings With the Ancient Teachers of Mankind, in which he sets out to investigate this mysterious 'before and after moment' and to discover the truth about the influences that gave birth to the modern human mind.

Graham Hancock was formerly East Africa Correspondent for The Economist and covered the Ogaden war between Somalia and Ethiopia for the London Sunday Times. His books include African Ark: Peoples of the Horn, the widely acclaimed Lords of Poverty, which earned the 1990 H.L. Mencken Award (honorable mention) for an outstanding book of journalism, The Sign and the Seal (Crown, 1992), the international bestseller that documented his real-life quest for the lost Ark of the Covenant, and the recent number-one bestseller, Fingerprints of the Gods (Crown 1995).

Hancock has recently appeared on the NBC special "The Mysterious Origins of Man" and on the CBS special "Mysteries of the Millennium." He has also appeared on television with Michael Palin in his "Pole to Pole" series, the BBC and CNN, as well as the National Geographic's "Explorer" series in stories related to The Sign and the Seal.

John Major Jenkins is a pioneer of the 2012 movement and a leading voice in elucidating the mysteries of ancient Mesoamerican cosmology. The author of nine books on the subject, he has investigated the authentic sources of the 2012 tradition and has identified the astronomy, prophecy, and spiritual teachings connected to 2012. In reconstructing how the rare galactic alignment of earth, the solstice sun, and the dark rift in the Milky Way was encoded into Maya traditions, Jenkins’ work restores lost aspects of ancient Maya cosmology. In his 1998 opus, Maya Cosmogenesis 2012, Jenkins finds in the Maya Creation Mythology a cyclic time philosophy and a doctrine of World Ages that reveal how the ancient Maya thought about 2012. Contrary to the modern media’s obsessions with doomsday, and the countless inventive models flooding the marketplace, 2012 is about transformation and renewal.
The idea of periodically shifting World Ages is found in the myths of many cultures. Human beings are naturally interested in the vast cycles of time and the changing seasons of life on Earth. In his 2002 book Galactic Alignment, Jenkins traced the fragments of a lost galactic cosmology in many contexts including Mithraism, Vedic philosophy, Egyptian cosmology, and Islamic metaphysics. He finally identifies the first principles of Maya time philosophy within the Perennial Philosophy, the universal spiritual teachings at the root of all religions as explicated by Aldous Huxley and others.

To ancient societies, especially the Maya, the sky was understood to be intimately linked with the changing modes of human culture. Thousands of years ago, people were tuned into the night sky to a depth that we cannot comprehend, living as most of us do in urban areas that are so polluted as to veil the stars. Long ago, skywatchers in many parts of the globe tracked a vast astronomical cycle called the precession of the equinoxes, and they believed that this Great Cycle determined transformational eras in human culture. But there is a great mystery around this topic, almost as if the original story somehow got muddled. How far back does this knowledge go?

There is a revolution underway in how we understand ancient Maya metaphysics, astronomy, and other traditions related to 2012. New information from Izapa, Tortuguero, Palenque, Chichen Itza, and other Maya sites is validating John’s galactic alignment work and is filling out with great depth and detail the true nature of ancient Maya cosmovision. In his new book, The 2012 Story (2009), John addresses the major issues in the 2012 discussion and has brought a focus to the enduring ones that will make a difference after 2012. John’s work continues to pioneer new discoveries, bridging the concerns of scholars, spiritual seekers, philosophers, the media, and the contemporary Maya. To freely share late-breaking information and discoveries, John manages various informational and interactive online sites, including The Center for 2012 Studies,, and

John “Eesawu” Kimmey. It is curious how an odd idea from an obscure source, long unknown, ignored, or considered irrelevant, suddenly emerges to general public notice. The idea itself cannot alone account for its sudden spread and wide acceptance. Nor can the media which report it. Relevant though it may be, an idea first requires a fertile ground in which to take root and grow. And this must be the unconscious level of those who at last find in it something akin to their own deeper feelings.

The Hopi Prophecy is such a phenomenon.
We all stand today on the threshold of a new era, a new cyclical change in world history. But this glimpse into the mystical worlds of the Mayas, Navajos, Onondaga, Hopis and other ancient peoples carries a warning. If we are to avert a cataclysmic rupture between the spiritual and material, between our own hearts and mind, we must reestablish our relationship with all the forms of living nature.

In order to show the parallels between the ancient teachings of the Mayan Calendar and the Hopi Prophecy, we have invited John “Eesawu” Kimmey to join us in Cancun for the 2012: Tipping Point Conference where he will explain the Hopi Prophecy and what it means for our near future.

If there was an appropriate term to describe the lifeworks of John Kimmey it would be as a 'seedplanter.' He has an innate characteristic of a visionary/community developer, working for years with the native people of the American Southwest.

John became a student of the elders of the Hopi village of Hotevilla, Arizona and became a student and traveling companion of the late Hopi Prophet and village leader, David Monongye. At the elders' request John came to live in Hotevilla to assist them in a communication effort which reached out to the United Nations and many other world leaders.

While residing with the Hopis John was urged by the elders to return to Santa Fe and found an organization to collect and conserve native food crops of the Southwest. John founded Talavaya Center, a non-profit educational and research center which established a community seed bank of over 600 varieties of native cultivars. In 1984 Talavaya Center received the United Nations Environmental Programme Award for its successful efforts in the conservation of genetic diversity of important germplasm and the farming lore of the ancestral cultures of the Southwest.

Having received permission, John has become a foremost teacher of the Hopi Prophecy and the wisdom of the Hopi Elders which he has taught around the world and will be sharing at our 2012: Tipping Point Cancun Conference.

Christine Page, M.D.
It is said there will be a return of the feminine in 2012, portrayed in the symbols of the Virgin, the Mother, and the Crone. This emergence of the feminine inherently implies a death, or diminishing, of masculine energy. According to author, teacher and Cancun Prophets Conference presenter Dr. Christine Page, this change of tides, or shift in feminine/masculine power, can be seen as “the completion of the hero’s journey.” She shows not only how the myths of the feminine and the masculine incarnation relate to our personal journey toward 2012 and a new consciousness, but also how we can use the lessons of these symbols and myths to prepare ourselves for the coming changes.
“Welcome to the Great Shift, an extraordinary time in the history of humanity, offering us the opportunity to remember our eternal origins and create a whole new world. At present, the sun, and by inference, the Earth is more closely aligned to the Galactic Centre than it has been for the last 26,000 years. This is the moment you’ve been waiting for over thousands of lifetimes; a chance to grow spiritually beyond the anything you can imagine. So don’t fall asleep!

“According to the Maya, this unique astronomical event links us directly to the heart of the Great Mother, the term used by ancient people for the Galactic Center. Intuitively, we are being guided to move our awareness from our heads to our hearts, so that through resonance with the Galactic Center, we can experience the unlimited abundance which waits beyond; the Source of all creation. To aid us on our journey, our ancestors left behind signposts in the form of mythology, traditional stories and mystical processes, such as astrology and alchemy. All contain archetypal symbols which stimulate the deep, inherent wisdom of the left brain awakening us to a truth which extends far beyond our five senses.

“Many indigenous traditions recognize 2012 as the switch over period between one world and the next. However, we don’t have to wait until this specific date to make changes, for the pains of labor are already being experienced globally, accompanied by both anxiety and excitement. Astrologically, we are being aided by the archetypal forces of the planets. For instance, from 2008-2023, Pluto, the planet of transformation, is passing through the sign of rules, Capricorn, breaking down all structures which bind us to old hierarchical ways. As we gather into our hearts the gems of wisdom from our past experiences, we are ready to create a global consciousness which reflects heartfelt integrity, accountability and unity through the acceptance of diversity.

“And who better to be the midwife of these changes, but the Great Mother who is inherently familiar with cycles of life encompassing death and birth. It is the in-dwelling feminine within all of us which is calling us to love ourselves at the deepest level without shame or fear, awakening to the truth of our existence as a powerful, much loved, immortal being. Through her three faces, Virgin (Creator), Mother (Nurturer) and Crone (Destroyer), she is urging us to make life simple, listen to our intuition, value the abundance that already exists and release those things which no longer nurture the soul so that seeds can be planted for new, spiritual growth.

“ So are your ready to enter the great candy store in the sky and accept the great mother’s unlimited array of goodies? Are your ready to release your heart and mind from old paradigms of belief concerning yourself and the world and take a risk on an opportunity which will not occur for another 26,000 years?” —Christine Page, M. D.

Known as a mystical physician, Dr. Christine Page was immersed in spiritual mysteries from an early age, raised amongst healers and psychics. Daniel Pinchbeck.
"In the twentieth century, psychoanalyst Carl Jung realized 'the reality of the psyche,' the interconnection of mind and world, the psychic and the physical, expressed through synchronicities and other occult correspondences. Jung understood that a deep transformation of the human psyche was underway. According to Jungian theorist Edward Edinger, we are currently experiencing the 'archetype of the Apocalypse,' a term that has familiar destructive connotations but that is also defined as 'revealing' or 'uncovering.'
"As a negative archetype, it represents the smashing of previous forms of thought and ways of being; as a positive archetype, it represents a momentous event—“the coming of the Self into conscious realization.” In the Jungian model, the “Self” encompasses the complete expression of our being, including both conscious and unconscious elements. Our limited egos dread the coming of the Self, a process that takes place within historical time yet is, paradoxically, atemporal. As Christ expresses this paradox, ´'The hour is coming, and now is.'

"If the end of the Mayan calendar signals the completion of this archetypal process in historical time, we can begin to appreciate the momentous psychic distance we will travel in the next years. Today, most of us identify with our individual path and ego-defined goals. As we complete this apocalyptic passage, we will conceive ourselves, increasingly, as fractal expressions of a unified field of consciousness and sentient aspects of a planetary ecology—the Gaian mind—that is continually changed by our actions, and even our thoughts. When the collective shares this understanding, we will move beyond the threshold of history, with its narrative of wars, conquests, and competing belief systems. Humanity will unite as a global tribe, ensuring all of its members equal rights and equal status in a planetary community. Having resolved internecine discord, we will be ready to make our entry into galactic civilization, where we will discover new myths, new companions, and new dimensions of being."
Daniel Pinchbeck

Pinchbeck was a founder of the 1990s literary magazine Open City with fellow writers Thomas Beller and Robert Bingham. He has written for many publications, including Esquire, The New York Times Magazine, The Village Voice, and Rolling Stone. In 1994, he was chosen by The New York Times Magazine as one of “Thirty Under Thirty” destined to change our culture.
His 2003 book, Breaking Open the Head: A Psychedelic Journey into the Heart of Contemporary Shamanism, seems to have really given him a higher profile among those interested in alternative religion and spirituality.

In his recent book, 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl Daniel deals with planet-wide transformation of consciousness, crop circles, ancient prophecies and the end of the world.

Pinchbeck lives in New York’s East Village, where he is editorial director of the online magazine Reality Sandwich. He writes a column, Prophet Motive, for Conscious Enlightenment publishing (, which appears in Conscious Choice (Chicago), Conscious Choice (Seattle), Whole Life Times (LA), and Common Ground (SF).

Russell Targ, Ph.D. co-founder of a previously SECRET psychic research program, will describe the very best evidence for extrasensory perception, precognition, intuitive diagnosis and distant healing. In the Cancun workshop we will experience many of these applications, together with the spiritual implications of psychic abilities from the Hindu mystic Patanjali, and the Dzogchen dharma masters, down to the present time, as they might be applied to expanding ones timeless and nonlocal awareness. We will discuss how to recognize the actual psychic signal, and separate it from mental noise of memory, imagination, and analysis – and why should we bother with ESP? Finally, and most important, we will have lessons in remote viewing, just as they did in the successful Stanford Research Institute program, and then use these abilities to view a specific location on the Winter solstice of 2012, a location by its presence would give a message for all to understand.
Russell Targ is a physicist and author who was a pioneer in the development of the laser and laser applications, and was co-founder of the Stanford Research Institute's investigation into psychic abilities in the 1970s and 1980s for the CIA. This previously classified work, in what is now widely known as remote viewing, was published in Nature, The Proceedings of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Proceedings of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Targ has a B.S. in Physics from Queens College, and did graduate work in physics at Columbia University. He received two National Aeronautics and Space Administration awards for inventions and contributions in lasers and laser communications; and invitations were accepted in 1983 and 1984 to present remote viewing demonstrations, and to address the USSR Academy of Sciences on this research. In 1998 Targ retired from Lockheed Martin Missiles & Space Co. as a senior staff scientist, where he developed airborne laser systems for the detection of windshear. He now pursues ESP research in Palo Alto, California, and is also publishing special editions of classic books in psychical research.

He is co-author of eight books dealing with the scientific investigation of psychic abilities, Buddhism, and a recent autobiography, Do You See What I See: Memoirs of a Blind Biker, that describes his life as a scientist and legally-blind motorcyclist. Some of his other books are Limitless Mind: A Guide to Remote Viewing and Transformation of Consciousness, Mind Reach: Scientists Look at Psychic Abilities (co-authored with Harold Puthoff); Miracles of Mind: Remote Viewing and Spiritual Healing; The Heart of the Mind: How to Experience God Without Belief (both co-authored with Jane Katra); and The End of Suffering: Fearless Living in Troubled Times (co-authored with J. J. Hurtak).

Targ now resides in Palo Alto, California with his wife, Patricia.

Mario Gómez Mayorga will be guiding the opening and closing ceremonies for the conference cycle. He will also be a conference speaker and join the sacred temple tour. “The days we were all waiting for are happening every day, we were born for this and we have a responsibility.” Founder and director of Con Ciencia Indígena, (With Indigenous Science) Mario has more than 22 years of relationship with the most preserved indigenous groups of Mexico sharing Toltec roots, basically Huichols, Mazatecs, Nahuas, and Mayas.
He teaches workshops, retreats, and conferences related to human development, self healing, and shamanic techniques, transmitting practical ways to apply indigenous knowledge in modern everyday life. Conducts tours to Mexican natural power places and prehispanic cities to make deep connections though ceremonies, rituals and indigenous practices. 30 years of experience in altered states of consciousness assisting and helping people into those realms and healings though sacred power plants.

Being a member of Conservacion Humana A.C. he has participated in the re-opening of an almost lost millenary pilgrimage route, a 680 kilometers walk to the most sacred lands of the Huichol nation.

Mario is author of the book Here and Now dealing with subjects as lucidity, awareness, attention focus, and consciousness.

A few months ago he was filmed by The History Channel for a segment of the series “Strange Rituals” in the documentary “Last rites” showing a Toltec live burial initiation ceremony, “The Burial of the Warrior”.

His main concern has been to transmit tools that may help people in the self exploration adventure, with no other teacher than direct experience and intentionally made actions, with the foundation that no one can teach you anything but only you can learn or teach yourself. As well as to recover the relationship with nature and Mother Earth thanks to whom we exist and can help us make deep connections with the spirit of life.

Rocío López Ruíz The entrance to a great change is getting closer, but Rocio never personally imagined that the change would be so real. After living an ordinary life, at the age of 21 a clinic death brought a 360° shift to her life and from this experience she has been dedicated to the exploration of subconscious depths though indigenous Toltec knowledge as a personal transformation tool. Being a nutritional adviser she has dedicated more than 18 years to physical, mental and spiritual health, aware that nutrition is much more than what we eat, since we nourish ourselves from what we think, say, listen, see, personal relations, and the world in which we live.
For 16 years she has been an active coordinator in Con Ciencia Indigena´s human development workshops, teaching self healing and shamanic techniques, transmitting practical ways to apply indigenous knowledge into everyday life.

She now has 16 years of relationship with Huichol and Mazatec indigenous nations.

As a member of Conservacion Humana A.C. she was part of the team in the re-opening of the sacred Huichol route.

Miguel Angel Vergara Calleros will be guiding the Mayan site portion of the conference and conducting ceremony. He will also be a conference speaker. Angel is a Mayan Cultural Teacher and leading authority on Chichen Itza and the pyramid of K'u-Kuul-Kaan. He is the author of several books on the Maya including two on Chichen Itza. He was Coordinator of Cultural Services for the Yucatan state government and the director of Chichen Itza for four years.
Miguel Angel studied for 17 years with Mayan elder, Don Vincente Martin, who was a wisdom keeper, professional teacher and artist. Angel became a master in his own right, known as Master Nazul, and teaches seminars in Mexico and abroad on Mayan astronomy, philosophy, calendar, glyphs and symbols, medicine, cosmovision, traditions and prayers, ceremonies and healing. Miguel Angel teaches us how to connect with the masters of light who are available to teach and guide us now, as in ancient times. He conducts tours to the Mayan sacred sites so that we can experience first-hand the powerful activating energies of those areas. His knowledge and experience make the journeys come alive as we begin to understand how the messages were imprinted, what the glyphs mean, how the buildings were used and how the ceremonies were conducted.

Miguel Angel teaches in a heart-centered style that connects rapidly and profoundly with his audience. Those who experience him realize they are in the presence of a master and are being given an extraordinary gift.
