Awe-inspiring photos sharing the magic of the Amazon from one of our January 2007 participants.

“The curandero is seeing what each person is dreaming. His icaros, songs, are sending some further out into their dreams and pulling others back down to earth at the same time. He’s healing everyone simultaneously as well, even those who don’t know they need it. He is asking his plant spirit allies to work with everyone and his allies respond.”
Peter Gorman

The voyage will be one of incredible healing and discovery.

It begins on the first Saturday of the month, and goes for three weeks through the 4th Saturday. The tour includes the Amazon and three sacred Ayahuasca ceremonies, as well as the opportunity to utilize the Matses Indians' sacred medicines, nu-nu and sapo, the former a snuff, the latter frog-sweat.

On the way to Cuzco we'll take a day in Lima, where we'll visit the Cathedral of San Francisco and the incredible catacombs beneath it, the Cathedral of Lima, and time permitting, the National Museum.

In Cuzco we'll visit ruins around the city, including the Sacred Waterfalls, Q’enqo and Sacsayhuaman, the monolithic structure above Cuzco, where we'll have a chance to do a mushroom ceremony with the local fungi. We'll head out to the Sacred Valley and spend a night in beautiful Ollantaytambo, where we’ll have a San Pedro ceremony with an extraordinary healer.

Finally, we’ll head to Aguas Calientes, the town located at the base of Machu Picchu on one of the world's most glorious train rides, then have two days to explore the ruins themselves.

The medicine, the mystery, the Amazon and the Andes: Add them all together and it’s a recipe a life-changing, life-affirming trip.

Two of the medicines, Ayahuasca and San Pedro, are among the Seven Master Plant Teachers, renowned for their willingness to communicate with man. Nu-Nu and Sapo are two medicines that have allowed the Matses to thrive in an essentially uninhabitable environment in the deep jungle.

Mushrooms, a vital Minor Plant Teacher, are known as perhaps the friendliest of the plant teachers: rarely harsh, She simply wraps us with love and light while passing out Her lessons.

The Lima/Cuzco Andes highlands portion of the tour will be led by either Carolynne Melnyk or Alan Shoemaker, two friends of Peter's who have spent a considerable time in the Cuzco area and who have done extensive shamanic work.

"I'm still trying to digest what I felt and thought. I had amazing experiences in the jungle. Definitely everything was mystic for me. People that I met and things what I felt and saw were wonderful. I really want to fly back to there again.. I miss jungle(^_^;) And Peter , I have to say you did really great job. Gave us many fantastic knowledge. And you were always gentle for us."
Miyuki, Japan (June 2007)

"I am only home a few days (from the January 2007 expedition) and not ready to say much about this trip except that it was wonderful, essential, and I am very glad and grateful for every single bit of the experience. At some point I might figure out how to send a few photos, which would be hard to choose, and say a few words, which would not begin to express the reality of what was given and received. Incredible Beauty, and healing, and learning, and love. Peter was fantastic."
Pam, US" (January 2007)

"The whole experience was a fantastic journey. Peter, his team, group members, native people I encountered along the way, the jungle, Sacchumama, Macchu picchu, Ayahuasca, etc. They all played a part in helping me reconnect with spirit, life in a most profound way. The experiences and insights were many, forgiveness and love where two of the strongest that came up time and again for me."
Dwight, UK (January 2007)
