The vast temple and cremation complex of Pashupatinath, on the holy river Bagmati , is as sacred as the Ganges itself. This is the principal residence in Nepal of the great god Shiva and cremation here ensures a final and thorough cleanse and release from rebirth, especially if this happens during a festival while the priests are chanting and performing one of their haunting and fascinating fire rituals. An interesting sacred site, this is also used and venerated by Buddhists. All is ONE!
