The Yin and Yang of a Writer’s Life:
From the Mind to the Marketplace
with Jan Phillips
To live creatively is to live from the soul, to shape our circumstances out of our deepest desires. —Jan Phillips
6-Part Video Course
Author, workshop director, and social activist Jan Phillips has a unique way to inspire and guide us to live life as a work of art.
“In the creative process, we are called to co-create with the thing that wants birthing. We must listen, open ourselves, summon courage, commit ourselves to the task, and begin. And this is the hardest part: in the face of nothing, we must begin. Not waiting for the sentence to be fully formed before writing the first word. Not waiting for the completed image to manifest in our minds before approaching the canvas.”
In this six-session online intensive writing workshop Jan will delve into the intuitive, interior creative side and the logical, external marketing side of a writer’s life. She will cover both the WHY-TO and the HOW-TO of the writing craft, since it is the fusion of both that leads to creative combustion and commercial success.
Guest authors and poets join each class and there are writing prompts every session to warm up.
